A Welcoming Sanctuary in the Southwest

On Saturday May 25th, under the morning sky and as the sun cast its golden rays over the Sonoran Desert, the doors to the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel were opened to thousands of parishioners who traveled to the greatest of feasts.

A spiritual oasis was manifest as the Welcoming Ceremony to the Holy Supper 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona, officially began with sentiments of love, fraternity, and unity. Smiles filled with joy could be seen throughout the room as the brethren arrived to participate in this Holy Convocation. A blissful aroma of hope permeated the halls wherein the brethren were ushered to the place prepared for English and Spanish ceremonies, which would be held simultaneously.

As the brothers made their way, melodies in the distance filled the air, it was the choir of the Church of the Lord declaring their presence, singing beautiful melodies of praise and worship to our God and HIS beloved Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

At 10 a.m. the Welcoming Ceremonies commenced, both in English and in Spanish. Amidst those gathered for the ceremony, a message of fraternal welcoming, love, and hope echoed as the brethren meditated on the redeeming sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The flag of the United States opened the procession, followed by ministers from El Salvador and Mexico. Afterward, the ministers from the attending states walked the aisle, led by their respective flags. As the presiding minister called out their names, the congregations of Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, manifested their presence during the procession, marching down the center aisle of the venue.

As the choirs lifted their voices, singing the hymn “All Ye Welcome”, attendees of Phoenix’s ceremony embraced one another in a heartfelt, fraternal gesture. Faces were aglow with joy and happiness, and greeted each other warmly.

United in gratitude, the parishioners gathered collectively and give thanks to God for the blessing of this gathering, and the opportunity to once more attend the Holy Supper.

Special Service of the Holy Supper: Do this in remembrance of ME

Due to the growth that the Lord’s Church has been experiencing, the activities of May 6 and 7 were held in a larger venue, the House of Hope in Chicago.

The Light of the World Holy Supper held at the House of Hope was an event full of spirituality, devotion and community. After participating on May 6th of a day of prayers and messages based on the sacred scriptures, on the morning of May 7th, the attendees participated in a letter sent by the Apostle of Jesus Christ Naasón Joaquín García which highlighted “the prophecy in Psalm 48 does not refer to a physical space but rather a spiritual place, where the Election is, where the Authority is made manifest, and where the Sublime Presence of God descends, where God inspires my soul so that it may transform into “THE JOY OF ALL THE EARTH”.”

Afterwards, those gathered in this “Beautiful Province” proceeded to participate in a meditation prayer service, where the speaker motivated them to reflect on the importance of participating in the Lord’s Supper with a free conscience, reflecting on the importance of being better Christians and better citizens, as well as taking advantage of this festivity as a motivation to consolidate united families and a spirit of integral improvement.

The Holy Supper Service began at 3:00 p.m. The atmosphere was permeated with fervor and solemnity. The choirs sang sacred hymns that filled the space with moving melodies, uplifting the hearts of all present. The lights illuminated the altar, where the symbolic elements of the Holy Supper were arranged: the bread and wine, representing the body and blood of Christ. These elements that make up the Holy Supper, the bread and the juice of the vine, were prepared in an atmosphere of solemnity and between songs of the choir last May 3rd in the multipurpose room of the temple located on 90th Street.

The apostolic emissary led the ceremony with a special message that resonated in the hearts of those present, recalling the importance of this sacred act and the need to live a life according to the principles of love and service taught by Jesus Christ.

The parishioners, in reverent communion, partook of the sacred elements, remembering Christ’s sacrifice and renewing their commitment to their faith.

After the ceremony, attendees gathered in the common areas of the House of Hope to share moments of fellowship and celebration. They embraced, exchanged words of encouragement and shared experiences of faith, strengthening the bonds that unite them as a religious community: One Lord, one, the Election and one baptism.

The Light of the World’s Holy Supper in Chicago was more than just a religious ceremony, it was a sacred gathering where the parishioners came together to renew their commitment to their faith, strengthen their community and experience God’s presence in their lives.

Within the Holy Convocation festivity, the faith of the members of The Light of the World Church is strengthened by listening to the word of God in the venue prepared for the Holy Supper in Washington, D.C.

The Gaylord National Convention Center, in the state of Maryland, was the venue for this historic celebration May 5th, 6th and 7th, 2024.

The ministers presented different topics that served for personal, family and spiritual growth for each attendee. They spoke of God’s love for his people, fostering Christian values in every family, advising members to be better Christians, and encouraging the personal growth of each person with the word of God.

To better understand the sermons, the exposition of the word of God was presided in the Spanish and English languages, simultaneously in two different rooms.

    Growing congregations: Baptism Ceremony

On the afternoon of May 5, in the beautiful temple located on 65th Street, a special service was held where baptisms were performed for the souls who have been listening to the word of God and who, in full exercise of their freedom of religion, have decided to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and become part of the Light of the World.

The service was conducted entirely in the English language, this being one of the first churches in the city where prayer meetings are presided in English, inaugurated on July 15, 2021.

In an atmosphere of solemn spirituality, the minister who conducted the baptismal service invited those who wished to be baptized to approach the altar and participate in a profession of faith by raising their right hand and saying amen. In doing so, they affirmed their free acceptance of each of the questions of profession of faith in order to proceed with the ceremony of baptism performed by a deacon of the Church of the Lord, who, by apostolic authority, invoked the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and the opportunity of eternal life. In baptism, each person is completely immersed in water, which represents the blood of Christ, and thus becomes part of the church of Jesus Christ.
