WHAT IS THE HOLY SUPPER?

An invitation: “… it is the sacred memorial of life and salvation …” – Excerpt Apostolic Letter Naason Joaquin Garcia July 7, 2017.

More than 500 thousand attendees from 54 countries come together in one place to be one in Christ. It is the most solemn celebration of The Light of the World Church. It is held annually in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico from the 7th to the 15th of August. Bible studies on topics of faith and morals are taught in preparation for the Holy Supper at four locations in the city. Its main purpose is to commemorate the redeeming sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a call to unity and communion with God.

There are hundreds of thousands of faithful believers who come from all the nations where the Church has presence. The services and activities of the Holy Convocation are held in the main temples of the Church in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara. The temple located in Hermosa Provincia (Beautiful Province), to the east of the city is the main gathering point and international headquarters of the church.

Bible Context:

IThe solemn festivals ordained in the Pentateuch were called by the name of Holy Summon. The people of Israel were summoned to commemorate those events in which God aided them. During the development of these solemnities, the Israelites consecrated their lives and their time to serve God abstaining from their ordinary occupations.

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE HOLY SUPPER

WELCOME CEREMONY OF THE INTERNATIONAL DELEGATES

The Welcoming Ceremony is the event where the Apostle of Jesus Christ, Naason Joaquin Garcia, accompanied by the host church in Guadalajara, gives a fraternal welcome to the delegations from the states of the Mexican Republic and from countries where the church has presence.

It is an eminently fraternal event, which sends a message of love and peace to all humanity announcing that spiritual unity is possible regardless of distance, borders, language, race or socioeconomic status.

Moments prior to the religious ceremony, a social ceremony is held where officials from three levels of government (federal, state and municipal) congratulate the delegates from more than 50 nations.

The Welcoming Ceremony marks the official beginning for the activities of the Holy Supper.

COMMEMORATION OF THE HOLY SUPPER

The religious Holy Supper Service takes place on the evening of August 14. The faithful who have been incorporated into the church through baptism participate of the holy sacrament, thus fulfilling the commandment of Jesus Christ given through His Apostles: “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.” (1 Cor. 11:23-24)

Every time the members of the church participate of this memorial, they proclaim the death of our Lord Jesus Christ until His return. This entitles them to the spiritual benefits and promises that His sacrifice brought for the benefit of souls.

The Holy Supper service is broadcasted live through various TV and radio stations as well as live web feed, this way the faithful believers from all over the world, who cannot attend the convocation, gather in their house of prayer to join in the spiritual festivity.

FAREWELL CEREMONY OF THE HOLY SUPPER

The Farewell Ceremony takes place on the morning of August 15, during which Apostle Naason Joaquin Garcia wishes the attendees a safe and peaceful journey home. He urges them to conserve the spiritual communion obtained through the participation of the holy sacrament and the teaching they received during the Holy Supper.

In his farewell message, the Apostle of Jesus Christ motivates the faithful to continue to spread the Christian gospel when they return to their places of origin.
