Academic Forum hosts religious scholars; topic of interest is mission and history of the Light of the World Church

DALLAS, Texas. February 13. 2020. (TLOTW).— Last Thursday evening, an audience of more than 250 attended an Academic Forum on Religious Studies in Dallas’ iconic and historic Hall of State to hear religious scholars present their ongoing research on the history and establishment of the Light of the World Church in the United States.

Dr. Gordon Melton, Dr. Holly Folk, and Dr. Donald Westbrook (all three hold a Ph.D. in Religious Studies), presented their research after studying the Church’s arrival and continued growth in the United States of America, the social impact they and their doctrine have had over the years, highlighting their spirit of solidarity, construction of safe communities, and their innate respect of human rights that characterize the Church.
Minister Bigvai Estrada was invited to moderate the event, which also featured the participation of Dr. Silem Garcia (Degree in Political Science and Law, University of Almeria Spain), and Prof. Hamlet Almaguer (Master’s in Human Rights, University of La Castilla).

Finally, the presenting scholars announced that they would be publishing their findings in the Cesnur journal (http://www.cesnur.org./) , and anticipated that they would be holding an updated presentation in Quebec, Canada in the summer of 2020.
